The Tinian Mayor’s Office, in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), is preparing to implement a Temporary Emergency Roof Program to assist residents whose homes sustained roof damage following Typhoon Sinlaku.
Preliminary assessments have already been conducted for many disaster tent applicants. The Tinian Mayor’s Office will utilize this information to contact individuals who may qualify for the temporary roof program.
Residents who did not previously submit a disaster tent application but are interested in the Temporary Emergency Roof Program may visit the Tinian Mayor’s Office to apply beginning Tuesday, May 05, 2026, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (excluding lunch hours: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.).
Additional Guidance:
• Residents are encouraged to document all roof damage by taking clear photos and videos.
• Documentation should be completed prior to any cleanup or repair, if possible.
• For rental properties, landlord authorization will be required for program participation.
Further information will be provided as it becomes available. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue recovery efforts.
